The compatible Canon Fax CF H-1 (3 pack) tri-color (0958A003) cartridge that I Refilled is printing the wrong colors
This problem is most likely caused by a little cross-color contamination at the
very bottom of the cartridge and is fixed easily:
- First, check your instructions to make sure that the colors were injected into the proper
chambers. Don't use the manufacturer's label on the cartridge as a
guide - the colors on the manufacturer's label don't match up with the
colors in the cartridge. If you have injected the colors into the
wrong chambers the cartridge needs to be replaced.
- If the colors were injected into the correct chambers you almost definitely
have a little cross-contamination This happens when ink is injected too quickly for the sponge to
absorb it. A drop of ink is forced through the printhead (at the bottom of
the cartridge) and
gets wicked up into one of the other two color chambers. All you need to
do is to remove a little of the ink at the bottom of the contaminated
chamber. First, make sure that the cartridge isn't still dripping.
Then determine which color isn't printing correctly and go to the associated
color intensive page on our site
to print that color out until the color prints out correctly. If all
colors are bad print out the page with all of the colors on it until all of
the colors look good.
NOTE: To help avoid cross-contamination you need to keep ink
from leaking through the printhead: After getting the needle all the way into the cartridge, pull it back out a little
(1/4") before you SLOWLY inject the ink into the cartridge. The cartridge should take the ink with very little effort on your part. Continue to inject the ink
SLOWLY as you gradually pull the needle out of the
sponge in the cartridge.
DO NOT force the ink into the cartridge. Finally, once you have
filled a chamber you can reduce the pressure in the chamber by removing a small
amount of ink (about 1 ml). To do this simply use your syringe/needle to
suck out a little ink before proceeding to the next color.

There may be some dried ink, or debris, that is stopping the color ink from flowing
through the printhead in the machine. This can be cleared up by cleaning the printhead:
-
Try running your printer's printhead cleaning routine (refer to your owner's
manual if you need assistance) to see if that gets your cartridge to print
properly. If this routine fixes the problem, you do not need to go any
further. If you see improvement in your prints, try running the routine
again to see if it will resolve the problem for you.
