The remanufactured S020049 cartridge that I Refilled is leaking
If the ink flows out of the exit port when you attempt to
refill the cartridge, the exit port is not sealed properly:
- You need to clean and dry the area around the exit port before you try to seal it with the tape. I also find it helpful to keep a finger on the tape while I am refilling the cartridge just to make sure the ink doesn't leak out.

If your cartridge is leaking heavily after you have
completed all of the refill steps, the seal may not be completely air tight:
-
First of all, it is normal for a cartridge to leak for up to an hour after
refilling it! These cartridges need some time to stabilize.
-
Check the fill hole seal to make sure that it is air tight. Reseal, if necessary, to ensure that the
fill hole area is properly sealed.

If your cartridge is leaking the bulk of the ink out of the cartridge after you
have completed all of the refill steps, it could be that the cartridge has been
sitting empty for too long. The internal sponge may not
be able to soak up the ink.
- If the sponge is no longer viable, there is no repair for this and you will need a new cartridge.
